MSB Renew

Terms of Use

The short version: this is a free reference tool, not legal advice, and nothing here is for sale.

The site

MSB Renew is a free research tool that computes an MSB registration renewal date from FinCEN's own public registrant data. Nothing on this site is for sale, there is no account to create, and no payment is ever requested. It is provided as is, with no warranty of accuracy or availability.

Not legal advice

This site is independent research, not legal advice, and using it creates no advisor-client or attorney-client relationship of any kind. It reads a registrant's own public filing history against FinCEN's published renewal rule and reports a computed date; it does not review your registration's actual status, does not account for facts outside the public export, and makes no promise about your registration's real status. Decisions about your MSB's renewal obligations should be made with qualified counsel, not from this site alone.

The underlying data

The checker's data comes from FinCEN's own public MSB Registrant Search export, which is self-reported by registrants and republished on FinCEN's own schedule. The homepage and method page show the export's download date. A stale or incomplete filing on FinCEN's side will produce a stale or incomplete result here; this site has no way to correct or verify what a registrant has filed.

Acceptable use

Use the site for its intended purpose: looking up a registrant's own public renewal date. No attempts to scrape, overload, or probe the site beyond normal use, and no automated bulk querying.

Liability

To the extent the law allows, MSB Renew and the people who built it are not liable for any decision made in reliance on this site, including any cost, penalty, or compliance failure that follows from it. Nothing here limits liability the law does not allow limiting.

Changes

Content on this site, including the underlying dataset and the method page, may be updated at any time without notice as the rule, the FinCEN registry, or FinCEN's own guidance changes.
